This is my Arduino elevator model, designed in Tinkercad. This elevator is accurate to real elevators in almost every aspect. Some special features include a proper counterweight system, sensors to detect door jams, locking doors that open with keys, interior buttons, floor arrival chimes, and a free fall safety break. And, of course, typical elevator movement and call features. 

Personal note: Elevators have always been fascinating to me. As weird as it sounds, starting at the age of 4, I was always dragging my grandparents around to look at elevator mechanisms. Nothing has really changed since then and I’m still intrigued by the mechanisms and electronics that go into elevators. With that said, even though I had no idea what engineering was at 4, I knew I wanted to be an engineer.
